6 weeks isn't long. Can you not, say, take a 2 week break and go and join her for a holiday nd see how you get on being with her 24/7 instead of jacking everything in?

So I started talking to a lass that works in my local as a waitress, a few weeks ago, and have been seeing her since then, like going out for days out and stuff, we stayed in a hotel in London last weekend, and done thorpe park in the week, were golden together. I knew she was going travelling soon, but she leaves for Thailand for 6 weeks on Saturday, so I'm having some serious thoughts going through my head, such as selling the fiesta, jacking my job in and going with her, or just forgetting about her altogether, or just staying here until she gets back, but I know what would happen to me if I stayed here. She also starts university in London in September or sometime like that, which isn't a huge problem, I've got a car and can drive. Just not sure what to do.... The main thought I'm swaying towards is selling the fiesta tommorow, booking a flight and telling my boss to poke his job where the sun don't shine... My head is all over the place, and I quit drinking altogether last weekend, so that's not really helping my head at the moment
Get a grip Sam. You need a job to survive and she isn't going to want a man that can't support her, jumps in on her trip that she's probably had planned long before you came along and just drops everything in his life when she clicks her fingers. If you can't survive 6 weeks then it isn't even worth bothering because a relationship will face you with way mroe challenges than that.
My boyfriend has been away for 2 weeks and has 2 more to go. He's working at a Mini garage in America and I'm gutted because I want to be there with him so bad, but I couldn't be, I can't just leave my job and drop everything i have to be with him... life doesn't work like that. But it's been an amazing two and a half years and I know we have the rest of our lives to do stuff exactly like this together, just be patient and see how it goes

Also, does she feel the same way? Would she want you tagging along on her gap break?

I wouldn't be worried about work when I get back, I've got a few friends that I know would be able to help out there. She's asked me to go with her on several occasions too. But yeah, you do have some very valid points there Craig.
I'm on the road now, we'll have to meet up at some point Maidstone services Mg-Rover meet? ;)
