Yeah. The egr fills the inlet with poo and the map blocks up.
I had a landrover dealer drop me a 08 freelander td4 with lacking power (we are a small indie) as they couldn't fix it. They had fitted a new turbo, inter cooler, boost solenoid and couldn't fault it.
I cleaned the map, still the same. Reset the adaptions and away she went. Job done.

Op, quick & easy. Pull battery terminals off & bridge terminals (not battery terminals obviously)
This will reset ecu & adaptions. Worth a go.

Got it working, goes like a rocket ship now. Put the vacuum hose from the vacuum pump straight to the turbo wastegate, pulls like a train now  apparently this wasn't really a good idea, as it means the turbo will be running at full boost all the time  which means the turbo vacuum solenoid is the problem, but that's also controlled by the map sensor, I'll get a new one tommorow and see what happens.

Take the MAP sensor out and see if it's clogged up mate.  Mine was, I had already bought a new one as I flashed a code and it diagnosed a faulty map sensor reading.  i went to fit the new one and noticed there was a load of crud in the MAP sensor, cleaned it out, refitted it....hey presto.  I still fitted the new one anyway, but it's definitely worth giving it a clean out.

The other thing worth mentioning is that you can get the code readers DIRT cheap now. I bought a Tech2 one for Vauxhall/Opel when I had a Vectra, but you can get universal readers off ebay or amazon for 15 quid.

The Tech2 was good though, as you could control all the body functions (even sit there and control the wipers and horn) through the laptop.  The cheap ebay/amazon readers will only give you a fault code.  Not sure if you can reset them like you can on the Tech2.
