Got a 97 Cooper and need to get a pot of touch up paint.

On the VIN plate the Paint Code is RCQ and Trim Code SMM.

What is the correct Paint I need as I understand RCQ needs decoding further as it's a compostite code for body and roof paint.

Cheers

RCQ is a combination paint code of COF which is Flame Red and NAL which is diamond White 2 red being the main body colour and white being the roof colour obviously.

RCQ Comb of COF/NAL 1996-2000

It's a 97 Cooper so could it possibly be CPQ (BLVC1000 flame red) as I read this was used on the later Coopers rather than COF (BLVC818 Flame Red)?

Cheers

It could be, I found this which may be of interest and will post a link for the complete post and a link for the paint codes.

"I will post pictures tomorrow, going to go and purchase the paint I need (last batch was wrong as my paint code read RCQ and the supplier informed me that this was a dual code used on the multi coloured cars and that the code I required was COF (BLVC818 Flame Red). I have since found out that the code is actually CPQ (BLVC1000 flame red) used on the later Coopers."
