Clutch is standard.
Suspension is normal rubber cones and shocks - you'll struggle to get coilovers with a weak enough spring.
No need for hydraulic handbrake as the back end is so light. However there is no reason not to use one as it is easier on the arms! I've even seen people with servo assited hydro handbrakes!

To start off there aren't really any special modifications just get the car light and everything working well. Later you can go to power steering, modified racks, 2 speed gearboxes etc.

Holy thread revival! :ohno:

I came here because of your answer to my "Anyone Autotest?" thread and your fighting machine is certainly lean and green and very impressive! :proud:

Have you done any more to it in the last three years?

It's had a few bits done, but is ready for the engine to be refreshed now along with a two-speed 'box, Quaife ATB diff and electric power steering. I also have some alloy radius arms to go on and shed some more weight out of the back.

I hope this wind has died down for you - it's been a terrible few months of weather, luckily we survived unscathed!

what thickness of sheet did you use on the boot floor,  and how is it bonded,  was going to do mine in steel but imagen this saves a lot of weight in comparison

Can't remember the thickness, but it's fairly thin - maybe 1mm

Fixed with Sikaflex and pop rivets.

Left around an 1" of the original floor in around the edges and there is light steel box section running between the arches
