Also made some shell wheelnut covers. Not sure if i'll keep these, was more of a spur of the moment kind of thing. Saw them on some VWs and thought it was a good idea at the time, took forever to stretch them out to fit over my 19mm nuts. ;D

Did you use the standard 17mm shells for this?

That looks the nuts!

yeah used 17mm shells, had to cut them down and stretch them out though, as my wheel nuts are 19mm.

stretching them is a pain, took a long time to do. I used the Hex part of a large sparkplug socket.

From what i believe the last series of wheels take tapered nuts.

Jeez, that's nice.

I'd say that's about exactly what I'd do given free reign over what a Mini should look like.

Spot on and cooler than a snowman's frosty bits.

Yeah, same style but a little wider. Although i like the poke, it's too unpredictable. A slightly heavy passenger in the front causes too much change in the suspension to be low and poking. The wider arches will give me a bit more travel on the rears, and also let me take advantage of the tubbing. Thinking of painting them white like the car.

Also what are you doing with your wheels?

yeah the poke is awesome but i see what you mean. might get some cheeky tuck from wider arches though ;D tubbing is definitely the way forward, and i would keep the arches black personally, they look sweet.

you mean my steelies? theyre currently stacked in the corner of my bedroom while my car is in lots of pieces haha. gunna get some custom center caps made for them, and the 13" beauty rings im waiting on should finish them off nicely. or did you mean my old alloys? theyre in my garage atm, will probs keep them incase i need a spare, or for slave wheels during the rebuild so i dont damage the steelies

Your banded steels are awesome. I want some for this car. What were they from originally before you had them banded? I was thinking of 12" banded steels for this at some point.
