My old build thread is available here: http://www.theminifo...was-about-time/

Over the colder months i decided that i wanted to go in a totally different direction to the first plan i had in mind, and now the weather is warmer, and i have more free time, i felt it was time i acted on these thoughts.

The aim is to create something a little more different, a stanced racey looking mini, with the performance, but still with a nostalgic and 'retro' feel.

This is as far as i have gotten so far, and i will continue to update this, opposed to my old thread.

It started when i purchased a set of 8x13 revolution wheels.

They were in a dire need of a refurb, but i noticed they were the old revolution motor sport series wheels, and i had to have them.

I had them refrubed at pristine wheels, and they did a great job, considering one was buckled and another had about a 2 inch crack in it.

Then when the time was right i had tyres fitted, and fitted my longer wheel studs to give me loads of thread engagement.

suspension was adjusted, and i also used some minispares 9.5mm wheel spacers on the rear, as the wheel poked from the front more than the rears.

The car is now sitting much nicer, and currently is looking like this.

Even though the rears are tubbed by about 2 inches i can't really take advantage due to the wheel poke, but currently im happy with the ride height.

Now the car is sitting evenly both sides, and it's handling much nicer i'm going to take a break and sort out some of my dreadfully unfinished interior, and little bits here and there.

I've also started work on the head of my Austin 1300gt, so some pics of that progress will also follow shortly.

I was never a fan of 13" wheels but that just looks great.

Did a few more bits today. Cosmetically the car is nearly finished, so in-between taking breaks from sorting out the engine i'm doing bits and bobs to make it more comfortable to drive, and adding little details.

Wrapped the steering wheel, as the harshness of the wooden wheel is starting to a get a little too much for the occasional long journeys i'm making.

I also painted the details in on the tyres, something i've been wanting to do for a while.

This is a photo i took on my phone at a photoshoot today. The ones by the photographer are obviously 100 times better. I'll upload those on the weekend some time.

It looks great, but I would never run on a welded wheel again.

Done correctly you should have no problem with welded wheels.

Thanks very much :)

The wheels were re manufactured opposed to just a refurbishment. I felt the same way about it so i spent the little extra to get a good safe job.

Rear seats are now in and sorted, as well as my snazzy old style gear knob.

Not that anyone will ever sit on them anyway. The wheels will rub :shifty:

Started the 1275 yesterday. I'm not too bad with things like this, but it was good to have my brother along to help. Things tend to go a lot faster and smoother when you have an engineer helping you!

Engine is now pretty much completely broken up. Now just a case of getting the head machined, seats valves etc, sort the block out then find a gearbox. I was originally going to use the gearbox from my A+998, but i might see if i can source a relatively newer one. Going to start cleaning up some of the parts today such as the clutch housing.
