Hi all

There are some dials i want to get for the car but they stipulate that it can only run on 12v aplications. I was wondering what voltage a mini is?

Thanks

Yep, 12v is correct. Like all modern cars...

Lol unless its a truck its most likely to be 12v but you can get converters to 240v for things that plug into plug sockets. Like a ps2, tv etc

The base voltage is 12v, but guages such as temperature and fuel run on a regulated 10v supply, this is so they don't flick up and down depending on the load appied to the battery or alternator/dynamo.

Just to add to what GuessWorks said....

SMITHS gauges (if you buy them to add to your car) will require connection to the 10V supply from your car's voltage stabilizer. If you are adding TIM, VDO, AutoMeter (or some other brand of aftermarket gauge) almost all of them have their own internal voltage regulator which allows you to power them directly from the car's 12V supply. All the voltage conditioning and filtering is done internal to the instrument.

If you buy new instruments they will come with installation instructions that spell out how to connect them.
