hello again. Ok here it is. Had this at the riv run but not again till last friday. When driving normally she's ok. Not the best as things still need to be checked to get her running tip top. But when I go for it, foot down, and usually under load on big hills etc she suddenly misfires and I lose power :'( and think it's popping through the carb but not sure. Thought it was coupled with my rev gauge going mental but found that to be a different snag which is sorted.
Could this be something to do with timing??? I had it rolling roaded about 3 months ago and have changed the vacuum advance pipes going to the dizzy cause it was knacked but know i'm really scratching me head Any ideas?

I had something likethis on one of mine a few years ago, and it turned out the threads on the piston damper on the carb were knackered (the guy before me was a bit ham-fisted!!!!!) - I changed the piston damper, topped up the oil, and all was good again!!! Worth checking maybe? (I assume its the SU carb anyway!)

it might be a lack of oil in the dashpot. could also be a condenser or coil if it does it at high revs

Did think about the coil but not sure. The dash pot does have plenty of oil in it so that's not gonna be it. I'll ave a look at the piston damper and see what it's like. Cheers guys
