Hi
I'm coming to the end of the restoration of my 1275gt to stock out the factory look and I have a few questions/ queries.
Firstly sill and wheel arch finishers, did they come out the factory black or chrome as the one that was on it originally was black but I can't find any that are black to buy only chrome? Is there a particular one I need to buy for a clubman?
Secoundly the badge did 1275gts come with a badge on the front grill? The reason for asking is I have seen a few 1275gts with one on the grill.
Thirdly my gt has a radio and speakers but no arial, should it have one?
Finally it has fisart innocenti wheels does anyone know the paint codes?

How old is it?  The GT had a few styling changes over the years (grille badge as an example - pretty sure they were only fitted to the earlier GTs)

What year is your 1275GT? Early cars had a grille badge, later ones did not. Also earlier cars had chrome arch trim and later cars had black.

Minispares do black arch trim

1979, the trim was one piece that came off

Here's my dad's 1979 registered 1275 GT, which has black trim. My 1979 1275 GT has chrome despite being a later build date.

This is available from minispares as someone has already pointed out.

This is my GT with the plain front grill.

1275 GT's by that date should not have a GT badge on the front grill. They shared the same grill as the clubman.

The radio's where an option, mostly being dealer fitted. Because of this the antenna can get put anywhere.

On my dads it's located on the passenger wing. My car had it fitted on the roof.

You can see it here on the yellow car, the grill is the earlier type pre-76 and not correct for the car. The correct grill is on the Green car.

If you have a post 1977 car you should have this badge.

I can't help about the wheel colour I'm afraid.

Any other questions I'm happy to help.

Joe

I definitely prefer the pre 76 styling.

What were the original wheels on a 1275gt?

Love a good GT question.

For your age car you'd want Denovo Run flat tyres these where standard on 1275 GT's at the time. They look like this, with the correct hub caps.

The optional wheel was a regular 12x4.5" steel wheel with a different hub cap.

(photo taken from Surfblue63, I hope he doesn't mind!)

& The Special tuning option wheel was of course my favourite.

Hope this helps.

I have a set of those wheel trim centre caps that came on the later GT's. I have the trims too (not Denovo ones)

ebay or classifieds.

Be aware the tyres havn't been made for quite some time and are an odd size, so you may struggle to find any that are fir for use!
