Hi!
I have a 94 spi wich i am leaving in the paintshop tomorow. My question is if i can remove the part of the crome on the hood and instead fi a mk1 grille with mustache. I am aware of that i might have to fill a couple of holes but will it fit?

yes but you will need to remove the lip that the chrome strip screws on to by drilling out the spot welds

8 inch sounds a touch small!
Standard wheel size on all a Mini's from 84 on was 12 inch, same for 1275GTs before - basically all cars that had disk brakes I think (or at least it's a good approximation..).
The exceptions being sportspack MPIs and ERA turbos which had 13 inch.
Earlier cars all had 10 inch wheels. To fit 10s on later cars you need to change the callipers or you'll have clearance issues.
These are the only sizes ever factory fitted to Minis.

How does your bonnet catch work with the bonnet pins, any issues? Do you need to release the pins before the standard catch, as I wanted to do similar.CheersYeah just drill the spot welds out :)
sorry for hijacking the post!

but you can easily stretch the lving hell out of it ;)
But i think i will stick to 7. I want the car to be drivable.
I did some modification on the bonnet today and i think it will look great.
Thanks for the help guys!
