I have some Hammerite Direct to rust smooth blue paint and was just checking that it will be able to with stand the temperature that the engine will get to ? Doesn't day anywhere what the max temperature the paint can withstand.

A mate has used it for his head/block said it was fine just checking :)

I will be applying it to and acid dipped head so just bare metal but the block wasn't acid dipped, so yeah was just checking if any one used this and has had problems or if I am good to go! :)

Cheers

Properly prepared, you can use any metal paint. The engine doesn't get hot enough to really warrant HTP.

If the engine gets hot enough to strip the paint, then you've got bigger problems than an unpainted block.

Mines in standard red hammerite and its lasting well.

Tell me about it, Hammerite always used to be a cheap and cheerful, slap it on over rusty old stuff to brighten it up, type thing. The price of the stuff just seems to keep going up and up though. I think they're putting an uber expensive secret ingredient in it these days, maybe platinum, caviar, or cocaine or something???

Maybe its the cocaine in the paint making my engines performance a bit erratic then!
