Just a question, do you honestly think that spraying over areas of recurring rust a suitable solution to the problem? I find it mad that anyone would spend so much time preparing a car only to bodge something as critical as that which WILL result in a rot box. It might not be a month or even a year but the rust underneath the paint will develop no matter how many 'blow overs' you do.

In my opinion it is not bodjing, it is keeping the car as is. I do not want to change the door when I can repair it likewise the bonnet this would, to me, this is taking part of the origional car away and I would rather keep repairing it as if I do it, nobody could tell know that there is rust underneath and to do this every six months or so is not a problem for me.

Once repaired no one would know that there was rust, if someone else would rather fit a door from another car or a bonnet from another car that is up to them! I would rather say that the car has all its original panels (apart from drivers door and battery box) if a hole appeared in a wing, I would rather repar than change, my opinion.

When decorating a room in a house, if a bit of plaster falls off, you would repair rather than replaster the wall,

If you look at the Video or the images that I have uploaded you can not see any rust because I have repaired it, as it comes through I can repair it again and again.

Only if you knew the reason for that happening wasn't serious, with a car I would question how well the prep was done before it was painted

If a proper repair was done I.e. all rust removed via blasting or cutting then new panel/section put in and sprayed to original quality nobody would be able to tell that there was a repair done in the first place.

You keep saying you want to keep it original which is fine but would you not rather do a repair to the car that lasts? The method you're doing will only lead to the car becoming a rust bucket a little down the road.

Anyway I've made my views clear, hopefully you might reconsider the way you approach this issue in future as it would be a shame to see a car like this in decent condition deteriorate.

I take it back to metal and repair it, this is my choice as it is my car, if a hole appears and I welded a plate on, rust can come through elsewhere, it is a 45 year old car, and I don't want plates welded to it which you have to fill over anyway meaning repar with filler.

Please also note. I want this car as an every day car, used in Sumer and winter, not just to lock it away and take it out in the summer or on a trailer to shows and not let anyone sit in it or touch it or sit it on steel sheets so as not to get the tyres dirty.

Is it just me who read this as NOS as in new-old-stock... not N2O (unless this actually is the kit from manufacturers NOS which is a brand name only)

Racing it around, I could have a bump but that's what a car is about, not being frightened to take it out, if I have a bump, I can repair it.

Clearly don't watch The Fast and The Furious movies ;)

I often read New Old Stock as Nitrous oxide when its written as NOS

You are dead right, but I say NOS as that's how others only know it. Thanks for pointing this out.
