You could get 1340, 1380, 1430 engines in those days or you could fit a Maxi 1800 engine into a clubman, engine swaps and modifications have not just been invented. David Vizard was a guru on Minis in those days too.

There was a Mini that did 0 to 60 in less than 3 seconds then with an engine swap.

I have read this lash up of a topic and the one in the eBay section and all I can understand from both of them is that ur a massive tool who cannot take other people opinions on board.Your mini is very nice in my opinion over priced but hey that's your choice. But you are never going to sell this mini with that attitude.Be passionate about your car we all are that's why we are on here but stop making enemies on what is a very friendly and knowledgeable forum..... good luck with your sale...

Sorry then, 1750 but they were put into Clubmans.

I am not going into massive debates with people who just want to argue, but twin over head engines were pu in race Mini' and Hill climb Minis years ago, ie, lancia engines,

Just a question, do you honestly think that spraying over areas of recurring rust a suitable solution to the problem? I find it mad that anyone would spend so much time preparing a car only to bodge something as critical as that which WILL result in a rot box. It might not be a month or even a year but the rust underneath the paint will develop no matter how many 'blow overs' you do.

I have now decided not to sel the Mini and park it up for a few years, not that I think it will be worth more in years to come just hide it away in my sones Garage.

My daughter is 23 and has an apartment in Birmingham City Centre
