I actually quite like that. If those rings were removed from the grille anyway.
Love the rear lights too!
Of course, it'll never go into production though.

Where do all these concept cars end up?
Someone must have a massive garage with all these non production cars in it......
You might find that some are really just very detailed CAD models and some very good rendering software. The people I work for work in conjunction with a design consultancy and some of the renderings they do look just like the real thing. I only know that a few of the posters in their office are CAD renderings because I have been told so. They have one for the Caparo T1 and you wouldn't be able to tell its not a photo of a car/mockup car.
I actually like the look of it. Reminds me a little of the Fiat Barchetta. I don't have an issue with it either as for once it looks like a brand new car, not just a hacked up thing (country man, clubman, that god awful pickup that was floating around on here a few weeks ago) that bears a very distant resemblance to a classic Mini.

This is a working car.... I'm sure it will be kept with the other concepts and rolled out from time to time.
I really like the proportions and the look of this one but I also think there is no future in this from MINI but BMW still owns the Triumph brand maybe a 21st century TR

There was an MG badged Mini-based small sports car prototype /concept made in the 1960's by BMC but it was canned like many Mini variants at the time probably due to cost and the fact the MG Midget was still selling well. It survives today and is in the BMH collection at Gaydon.

Bold new MINI concept previews the firm's new Mazda MX-5 rival, which will crown a new range of Mini models
MINI's long-held plans to take on the Mazda MX-5 with a uniquely styled roadster model have taken a decisive step towards production reality with the unveiling a stunning two seat concept created in co-operation with legendary Italian design and coach building house Touring Superleggera.
Described as blending modern Britishness with traditional Italian design flair, the Superleggera Vision points heavily to a new open-top Mini model conceived as an indirect replacement for the company’s existing MINI roadster and coupe models.
The new roadster is expected to crown a future range of Mini models – all based on common underpinnings offering the choice of either front- or four-wheel drive and powered by a variety of three- or four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines and a secret new electric drivetrain that insiders suggest is a development of that used by BMW’s innovative i3.

A lot of the cars in the Gaydon collection are not always on show due to lack of space but they are building an extension to the museum.
