Cool, this threads gaining a bit of steam.
I'm currently into building/joinery at the moment, but only because my dad is, I want to try and get into engineering really.

classic mg restorer, before that i was a builders labourer for a few months, before that i was a mechanic at a bmw and merc specialist, and before that i was a mechanic at a tvr and mk1 escort specialist and worked for top gear!!!

I have alwasy thought about jobs in 2 different minds. Either you do a job you will enjoy for less money, or you do a job which isnt what you might like as much for better money, but of course the latter allows you do afford to do stuff in your free time.
I work at Lifeline, a fire extinguisher manufacturer... sounds pretty boring when you tell someone you build extinguishers for a living, but its really not as bad as it sounds (plus I get to make fires periodicly)

i work for Waitrose/John lewis full time. hours can be abit rubbish but thats part of the fun!

I'm a "Marketing & Development Manager"!
I look after the business systems - also develop & implement any new systems or additions. I write & update the company websites. I also design all of the company brochures, newsletters, adverts, posters, catalogues. I sort out all company photography.
You totally don't want to do my job ...

I recently changed from contractor of 2 years to permanent at a well-known oil & gas corporation as a warehouse storeman. Really happy there.
