Bought some Burgen tools before and found the quality good, whats the opinion on this HVLP Gun?

http://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1423.l2649

My compressor is a 7.5cfm @90psi, remember I'm a sparkie so dont need big compressors, biggest thing I intend painting is my bonnet (stone chips), and the odd mark or two.

It has a 1mm nozzle and 4cfm so a bit bigger than most 0.8mm touch up guns. just wondered what the painters thoughts are here

I would aim for a 1.3 or 1.4 tip for better paint flow. It might be an OK gun for a few small jobs but I would personally spend a bit more.

This will be ideal and is a very good brand in the paint industry.

Hope this helps

What are the paint boys using here on TMF ? can you list ones you have and what you think. Checked the gun in myredmini;s link and that looks attractive and most likely the way to go ? only downside is for that model at that price they dont do any spares for it?

List up what your using and where you got it from price etc and any thing else I'd need to know about it

anyone using LVLP Guns ? anyone using one of these > http://www.ebay.co.u...=item1c3e1b06ea

I use a devilbiss sri pro spraygun, low air usage, minimum overspray and a superb finish also very easy to clean and spares are available. I have painted my mini with it and as long as I keep my eye on paint level and top up from a premixed measuring cup have had no issues at all and as the gun uses about 3cfm I can run it with an airfed mask on my 3hp clarke industrial compressor. Not the cheapest of guns to buy but the ease of use and finish it achieves was worth the money.

I use a Iwata az3 hte2 and have the 1.8 and 1.3 tips so i can use it as an all rounder. Had fantastic results with it at work. Also because I use waterbased basecoats as well as solvent I needed a stainless gun body. It did set me back around £200 though. I will easily be spending more for another in the future but I am in the trade, if its just diy stuff, no need to go mad.

With this iwata all spares are available too.

:proud:

What type of paint are you painting, and what sized areas are you painting, as if clear over base then a small touch up is ideal for blending then the larger gun for clearing the whole panel.

1K base and clear, biggest panel will be my bonnet, rest is just a touch up as requires as time goes on. My biggest restriction in my compressor as per post 1 which is why I'm trying the LVLP Gun.

A mini spraygun will easily paint a mini bonnet so the negron one is probably fine for what you want
