Well i have been digging all day and found some pictures and some history of my mini

i decided to search for the company that sold my mini back in 1989/90 it still has the trader name on.

i then came accross this image of an old map of where it used to be in Morecambe

then i decided to dig into a little more now i know a rough location and found that it is now closed and knocked down and discovered it is now a bowling alley and an aldi/reebok shop

so then i found a facebook group with old pictures on of morcambe and asked on there and have got a collection of pictures from when the shop was open

(on this one it is the one with the funny roof at the far left)

is there any other mini from the shop on here? or does anyone remember the shop?

I remember the place. It was right opposite the part of the promenade where there used to be the autotest known as the 'Monte-Morecambe' on the old Morecambe National Rallies and, later, on the Historic Morecambe Illuminations Rallies.

Used to stay at the famous Midland Hotel as well and I can remember some super parties there after various Morecambe rallies.

In 1977 i owned a mini ( my first car ) that was supplied by Fahys , and i as i live only a few miles away i pass the old site on a regular basis, and yes, like another member on here i remember the Empire nightclub.

I did have the original key rings from Fahys that came with the Mini but, like a fool i gave them to the new owner, then again i should have kept the damn Mini  :mmkay:.

The Mini was a MK2 Austin 850 in maroon, it never let me down but leaked in like a sieve.

Here is my Mini on the test right opposite where the garage used to be.

We finished 10th due to crashing into a gate on a narrow road which was closed, but should have been open. This destroyed the spotlights (expensive PIAA's) and knocked one of the headlights out of line, which cost us a lot of time & dropped us from 2nd place. Still, that's rallying!

Woop i have found some more information out on the mini today :D I got this on an email (i have chopped some bits out)

Please find attached some photos of Fahys. Has it happens there is a Pearlescent Cherry Red Mini 30 in the photo. Your registration number was given to us by DVLA Preston for the launch of the New Rover 214 but because you could not get any 214`s at the time we let the number go on the Mini.

So im getting there just looking for a P Clark in Sandback now anyone know him? or her?
