Hi,

Anyone else out there with a new Mini Cooper Mk 3 hatchback?

I've has mine less than a week and it's back to the dealer on the back of a recovery truck after a major gearbox failure!!

I'm interested to hear if it's just me with the bad luck

Are you talking new or old mini here? the only hatchbacks on the classics are radford conversions.

However if you are talking new MINI the mk3 must be the brand new f56 model that was released this year? If so I am amazed that the gearbox failed in a week!

Yes, you're right! It's one of the new F56 models.

Delivered on Monday, back to the dealer on Sunday, with only 54 miles on the clock.

How unlucky can you get!!!

What exactly was the 'major gearbox failure'?

Locked permanently in 'Park'. Even the manual override doesn't work.

Ouch! That is very unlucky! This forum is mostly for classics but please stick around and keep this thread updated, interesting issue seen as its a brand new model and sounds like quite a teething problem!

Cal844, how long have you had your F56? Have you driven many miles yet in it?
