Imperial is obviously the best option, but a 24mm will be fine.

old engine oil is carcinogenic so it,s a good idea to wear rubber gloves.

Drive the left front wheel up on a sturdy plank of wood, it helps to drain it out to the right side

Coat underside of car with used oil...! Actually I dont know about this, my dad told me it was common in years gone by. Sounds a bit of a messy job and as above, its not good for skin/eyes etc. Surprised you've not asked what to oil to use yet...!

If its a proper mini it should have already started to coat its own underside.

Beware not to use any old oil; the sump is shared with the gearbox; which means its subjected to more torture than a "normal" car engine.
