megamini_jb - sold her in February.... had to put the bumpers as the new owner wanted her with bumpers.... sorry to say they did not look good on her...
exactly before i sold her i pulled out the engine, spray painted the engine bay and de greased the engine itself. put a fresh coat of paint (engine block black and the gbox in red:) ) see the photos attached!

no i did not weld . for the rear bumpers i did bended an L shaped piece and mounted it to the rear boot lid hinges for the two main supports then on the sides i drilled two holes and put another 2 L shaped pieces. for the front part i did 4 L pieces and fixed them via bolts on the front panel. i put grease all over the holes that i drilled so as not to rust....
unfortunatly i had to sell her due to having the clubman estate. i had to finance the project somehow. then i saved another 3 minis from the scrap heap...so one went, another 4 came :))

this weekend's updates!-
all rust removed from the passengers's side . need to fill in small dents that i did not see.... sanded everywhere until it was in full bare metal not an ounce of old paint/filler/undercoat etc with a wirebrush on a grinder.... then i sanded it down with 220 sand paper on my da sander, then paint - to see if there are any imperfections on the metal surface.... i'll sand it again almost bare metal, put filler, undercoat and finally first colour coat!

sorry for not replying but i was working from dawn till dusk. this week i'll post some photos of the updates! basically passenger side all done with first coat of paint, doors stripped to bare metal, body filled them and ready for etch prime. at the mo they're in etch primer done with a paint brush. driverside rear mudguard bare metal sanded and ready for dent removal etc. i was wainting for the sand blaster guy to do my engine bay but did not turn up. i think i'm going to do it all by hand.
