It is a possibility - so you are correct in what you said - but it is rare - it will get a bit more common as servo cars get older
on some cars it's possible for ATF fluid to be sucked into the engine (auto's) giving smoke (can't remember what colour)

haha, how does the brake fluid get into the engine?
The brake fluid is drawn from the master cylinder outer seal thru the servo into the servo pipe , into the inlet manifold
takes a few worn seals - but not impossible , seen a few cars with it over the years
I doubt it will be seen on a new car - but you never know
have seen an old merc do it - drained the reserve , & fouled 2 plugs
took a lot of head scratching to work it out ,

Without hijacking the thread....
What could be the cause for smoke when revs go higher? I had to out my foot down to avoid a truck and a large puff of bluey white smoke came out with it, is this normal?
not so good - usually indicates rings / pistons worn
but also worth looking at the breathers & pipes not crushed , valve stem seals / guides ,
oil condition as well
how many miles & what spec engine ?

This is the best post on TMF ever!
i was on a mini run and another mini was kicking out white smoke when it started and break heavily apparently the engine sucks break fluid into the engine and burns it has your break fluid gone down at all?

But yet.....I still dont care!
Extremely unlikely

might be able to out this to bed.
after posting on here yesterday i did some tweaking with timing and mixture
just fired her up and no puff smoke??
ill give it another blast tomo and if none then can safely say it was down to one of these

That wouldn't cause white smoke, black smoke perhaps as a result of over fuelling.

just letting u know what happened

White smoke will only usually appear when it's cold (outside and engine). If it does then that it normal and just condensation. If it's happening when it is warm outside then there is something else.
I can't think of the other causes for white smoke, I'm sure someone else will confirm.

HG failure and coolant will cause white smoke.

NA no turbo.
i will get a vid tomo morning and post up for clarification
not quite tomo morning but heres the vid:
its strange cause when the timing is advanced this puff of smoke does not occur its only when i retard it to a safe timing i get this??
