Hi,

Been doing a search on here and have not really found anything.

I have had HiLo suspension fitted to my Mini. I know there is a locking nut and adjusting nut.

Is there any guides out there on how I lower my mini and what I need to do so?

Thanks

You need 2 30mm adjustable spanners or similar. For the rears you need to remove the wheels. Loosen off the locking nut while holding the other. Then loosen the nut off to go higher and tighten the nut to go lower. Same for the front but depending on what shocks you have sometimes you can get to the nuts without taking the wheel off although it is a lot easier if you do. As far as how much you need to turn them goes, its trial and error really. For example my front left one is wound all the way in and the front right one is wound out but the car is level. Just do a few turns at a time and see how it goes. Good luck :P

- First loosen the wheel nuts.

- Jack the car up and support it using axle stands.

- Take the wheels off.

- Using two adjustable spanners, hold the adjusting nut and break the lock nut away from the hi lo.

- To lower your car you want to turn in the adjusting nut, bring it closer to the hi lo.

- Once you have got both sides to an equal length, tighten the lock nut back up.

- Put your wheels back on with the wheel nuts finger tight using a socket and extension

- Jack the car back down, taking care that the hi lo stays in the correct place.

- Tighten your wheels back up to the specific torque

That's the way I do it, some people may drop the shocks to gain more room, but I can manage without doing this...

You need 2 300mm adjustable spanners or similar. I wouldn't use 300mm if I was you

Am i the only one who doesnt need to remove the rear wheels? Jack up, axle stand, get at it from the other side of the axle.  Done.

You probably can, but I think that if you have to jack up the car anyway, its not a lot of hassle to just take off the wheel to gain a lot more room, aha

Don't forget to make sure both sides are at the same height as well. The last thing you want is four hiLos all at different heights. I find the easiest way is using a vernier .
