I want to use some rattle can primer to cover a few small marks on the car. I have seen some in Halfords...U-Pol £11.99 a can! Is there a cheaper alternative, or is this Halfods stuff worth the money? Any help please! Regards Bill...

I used the Halfrauds stuff when I was patching up mine a couple of summers ago. Seemed decent stuff to be honest

I have used upol high 5, it is ok for small jobs but must be applied very thinly else it runs or reacts with other paints. Which to me defeats the object of high build. Upol p88 in a gun is much better and 2k products better again but if you have more than minor sanding marks then use some stopper or glaze first.
Just read post above, 2k primer can be rollered in small areas and you have none of the health risks of spraying so maybe best option.

i havnt used it for a long time, but i must admit, about 10 years back i tried to use it quite a few times, and i found it reacted with almost every paint i put it near.

or, say if you were trying to do a small repair on a larger panel, i would always get a reacting directly around the outer edge where the primer faed out onto the rest of the panel.

i guess you dont have a compressor? if you do i would advise going to 2 pack primer as it doesnt seem to react with anything

Halfords do they're own brand "filler primer" its yellow. It does the job after a few coats. Nothing compared to 2 pack but not bad for a small job.
