i have had a bit of a look on the net for an answer to this, but whats the deal with the pulley on the sc12?

i get that it uses a 12v supply to fire up a magnet, which in turn makes the pulley actually start to rotate the internals, but why would you need to do that? is it something to do with light throttle driving or gear changes?

would i be best changing it to a fixed pulley?

so on the mk1 mr2 you can decide to not switch it on if your just driving round town or in snow/ice etc? thats a good idea!

if i do go this route i will switch it to a solid drive though i think, i want it to be as simple as possible

Yup, it's just an electronic clutch. My mate has one in his corolla that's just wired up to a microswitch on the bottom of his throttle pedal.

hmmmm i dunno what to do now, the charger doesnt fit in the engine bay as easily as i hoped it might, i would need to relocate loads of stuff to make room for it such as battery, washer bottle, fan housing for heater inside, alternator etc etc

Not quite its controlled by the ecu to switch off on over run and on at a set load, not sure on the start load. So it acts like a bypass.

It a tight fit but you can get them in ;)

I have seen it down with an SC12 and it mounted on the front, the pics were on Ausmini.com. It is more difficult as you have loads of fab.

I can't see there being much gain if I was to switch mine about, but who knows unless you do it. But then Im running as efficiently as I can.

If your going to bother with all that fab, I would just go turbo, a better way to get usable higher boost....

but all my opinion
