Man the more I see on this the more im liking it. Did you buy the subframe or make it? I would really like to see more of the build.

Seriously though I am very tempted with this and im at a stage in my SPI rebuild where I can make changes easily enough...

there are several Micra build threads in this section you know http://www.theminifo...orum/167-other/

Cheers,  time to study... lol

Got a million questions now...

has there been any bulkhead modifications?
How are the drive shafts connected, assuming its all mini stopping gear hubs, caliper etc?
Are you using any Nissan ecu stuff?

And on and on and on... lol

Like
Are there any tuning possibilities with the engine?

And on and on LOL!

Made the frame...think it was 30x30x3mm square tube
No bulkhead cutting :) drive shafts are half mini half Nissan sleved & welded together :)
Yep it's all mini stuff at the hubs!
And I'm using all the Nissan ECU and injector setup :)

Yeah like l_jonez said...pleeeenty of tuning possibilities :D

Been searching and DL loads of  subframe pics from build threads, need to sit down with my partner in crime to see if its something we can tackle. Done a bit of searching on an engine too. 44k miles for less than £200 and thats just fleabay. Im sure with the beakers and scrappys round us I can get that down.

Cheers for the info mate

I picked up a 1.3 engine for 60 in the local scrappy but I'd say its best to buy a whole car.

Yeah go for a whole car :)
I bought a 1.3 micra for £200 & it had nothing wrong with it...Took the engine, gearbox, all the wiring, seat belts, gear linkage, exhaust, driveshafts & radiator. Then chucked some scrap I had lying about in it, took it to the scrap yard and got £113 for it! Bargain :D

Cheers :-)

I was using one that I made that took the standard injectors & throttle body. It definitely let the engine pull better, but caused stuttering problems at low engine speed and £600 odd for ecu modification + remapping to stop the stutter wasn't really an option :/ so at the minute I'm using the standard micra inlet manifold :)

Ahh, interesting.. i wanted to use the standard micra inlet too. but im in the process of finalising engine position and theres no way i can get it to fit!

did you have to cut the bulk head to fit the standard one? i would cut mine but all this talk IVA is putting me off :/

What exhaust manifold are you using? If you make one that sits nice and close to the block then you don't need to do any body modifications at all!

i haven't got an exhaust manifold yet, but ill be using modified k series so it sits close to the block, problem is the engine is as far forward as it will go

the front of the gearbox is touching the front of the frame even though ive cut a section of it and moved it further out.

have you got any pics of yours with standard manifold fitted? also a pic of where the diff sits would be great please :D as im also having a bit of a clearance problem there with the inner cv, like i cant really get it far enough back to sit through the drive shaft hole in the frame

also Rids, ive read through your build quite a few times, thats a nice job youve done on the manifold, i would attempt the same but i was hoping to use the standard micra manifold and keep all of the injection stuff standard, ive even kept nats lol all running on a trolley with minimal wiring

ill put a few pics up tomorrow if i get chance

Thanks, Jon
