but to fit nats surely id need to use the micra clocks aswell? wont they be programmed to the ecu and decoder ring ect?...

nope, if you have a nats ecu and loom all you have to do is tape the red piece out of micra key to the ring then hide it in the dash somewhere,
then you have pretty much the same thing as no nats. if you dont want to use micra clocks though i would at least find which wires are for the engine malfunction light and put a bubl in for it, also keep the diagnostic port. that way if anything goes wrong you can use the paper clip trip to read codes and find the problem.
even immobilizer codes show up, for example, if you try to start the engine without the transponder you will get code 144. (google micra paper clip) very handy if the engine wont start when its all in the car
