Hi
Did anybody used the bilstein B6 shock absorbers ? I need some reviews and advice on this..
I have a Soft coil springs and Hi-Lo Set up on my mini.
I want a soft ride
The Bilstein B6 shocks are Auto-Adjustable, and i want a good and soft ride without hitting poth holes and bump stops ,and feel like the car is going to dismantle !
Are there going to be hard shocks for my car?
I have 12" wheels on my mini, and i want to lowered it a bit, just a bit.. is the bilstein B6 a good idea ?

If anybody used them please advice me as soon as possible !!

I have these on the rear of my car and they are fantastic. I also have a soft coilover conversion with Hi-Lows and these shock absorbers dont make the ride hard in my opion.

I'm in the same boat. I've been told KYB Gas-a-just are good options but on every other vehicle, Bilsteins are considered best in class. Any real world experience with these?

I had them in my car before putting gaz adjustables. got them with the car and drove for around a year with them untill I did a complete suspension rework. they worked really great to be honest. would say they are as good as my current setup - I just wanted something I could change up for more "race" oriented driving ;)

I still have them here if you're interested in getting some used ones. send me a PM if you want and we could work something out :)

Cheers! I'd be grateful to know if you believe the ride was more/ less supple/ comfortable than with the regular KYB struts that everyone seems to install?

As I get older, I'm starting to crave a bit more comfort, even at the slight expense of handling.

I unfortunately have no comparison to the KYB shocks, but I can say that they were fairly soft/relaxed compared to my GAZ shocks that are set at 5 and 2 clicks (front and rear). What I realised was great was that they have an inbuilt spring/they bounce back to their original length so they aid in suspension and not just shock absorption. Hope someone else can compare them to tge KYB but from my experience they were very comfortable....

I'd expect them to be abit harder to be honest, Billys are known for being a touch on the stiff side anyway.

The number gives you abit of guidance as well, B8's are for track use, B4's road, B6 sits right in-between (very rough guide but you get my drift).

here's the more accurate info off their website, there's even a video

Suspension Kits

Bilstein B12 Sportline - Contains 4 x Bilstein B8 shocks and Eibach Sportline lowering springs. This kit is non adjustable with typical lowering of upto 50mm

Bilstein B12 Pro-kit - Contains 4 x Bilstein B8 shocks and Eibach Pro kit lowering springs. Typical lowering 30-40mm to give the perfect balance between looks and performance. This kit is non adjustable.

Bilstein B14 (PSS) - An height adjustable coil over kit with lowering between 30-50mm front and rear to fine tune your look.

Bilstein B16 (PSS10) - An fully adjustable coil over kit. Lowering up to 30-50mm and 10 pressure adjustments. This kit allows quick and easy parallel adjustment of bump and rebound with a twist of a dial. Flexibility for road use or track.

Bilstein ClubSport - The ultimate kit. Complete flexibility allowing 100 setting variations. You can easily adjust the bump and rebound separately to fine tune your kit to any track.

This kit can be used on the road but is better suited for the track.

Shock absorbers

Bilstein B4 - These are classed as a replacement damper. A few B4 variations exist depending on the vehicle application but these are all intended to replace the standard shocks fitted when the car was new.

Bilstein B6 - A non adjustable sport damper which is painted yellow. The B6 damper is designed for the motorist that wants a sporty ride without lowering the car or changing the original springs.

Bilstein B8 - just like the B6 shock absorber but shorter. These are only for use with lowering springs or where listed for vehicles with factory sports suspension. The are shorter to ensure the all important coil spring pre load as lowering springs are shorter than OE springs.
