hello everyone, i currently have 12x5 wheels on my mayfair, im looking into getting 12x5.5 wheels with the group 2 race arches and some spacers too bring the wheels slightly closer too the arches, will i need too cut anything or do any major bodywork? i dont do much driving on full lock so i dont mind if it rubs just a tiny bit ;)

thanks

- Kieran :)

5.5s may look a tad overarched, even with the spacers. You may find that due to the slightly wider wheel, they will scrub against the front panel/wings which will need to be cut accordingly

i have used these on a few minis and in my opinion are the best looking 12" minilight. they have about an inch of dish/rim and they are perfect with grp2 arches. with 165 tyres the tyre is bang in line with the arch.

just found this pic by doing a google search, these are group2s and minilife alloys.

or did you mean the wider arches?

Hi. I have the same set up as what your asking about. one photo is of the arches standard. One photo is when I modded them and cut the lip off. Hope this helps. Oh and you will have to trim the front panel. I find it catches when reversing and steering into a space for instance. Cut it out but still catches occasionally... I am quite low though.

Ive got 12x5.5s under Sportspack arches. They took a 19mm (3/4") spacer to fill the gap on top of the spaced drums. Means the rear studs are 80mm. The longest you can get.

verry nice, did you have too do much bodywork for them not too rub anywhere?

I removed about 10mm off the leading 1/3 of the arch. Personally I liked how they sat, slightly over arched. I think all this talk of poke etc nowadays is a bit daft... unless you like your cars to look like a cartoon sketch. Function over form and all that. If you want any more shots let me know and I'll raid the laptop.
