I'm already running an rc40 twinbox system which isn't too bad at all for an old car but if I could get something that would add a bit of torque and make it quieter then it's a win win really. Well as long as I could fit it in my system without going for a maniflow system as well.

I made a start on making one of these for myself, well I got as far as drawing it up to see what work/materials it would involve. Then I looked at the figures Maniflow predict, and then me being the cynical type assumed that they've been 'massaged' a little. I've shelved the idea for now but I might have a look at my exhaust books and see what it would involve for bringing any torque boost lower down the rev range for some 'real world' (my world) benefit.
You want to be looking into helmholtz resonators, much easier to test on a dyno/RR as they can be made to be adjustable on the car. Instead of having to make up several different length/angle megaphones and having to swap them over. The resonators can be tuned to inlliminate drone at certain RPMs and they can help increase torque too.

Will this actually make the exhaust quieter on a mini? I've always hated loud exhausts and I really don't want to annoy the neighbors at my lock up while I'm trying to fine tune my mini so would like to go quieter if poss.

It's noisier than a twin box rc40 but not massively so.
