Anyone got one of these yet? http://www.maniflow....ew=page&page=52 The extra torque looks handy, perhaps not so much for my SW05 cam which is very torquey already but for a bigger cam it'd be a useful addition.

No-one got one yet then? We have cone-rolling technology in the shed and experience of making 2-stroke expansion chambers so I'd like to give it a go. Anyone for a guess how long that megaphone is? Assuming it's 1.75" diameter pipe I'm guessing the megaphone is 3" wide.

Hmmm... no here has ever read the MZ story and what Walter Kaaden did for manipulating exhaust harmonics then...

It's probably as long as rear subframe as that's where the join nomarlly is to middle section

I know someone that has fitted one of these systems, the car is now much quieter, and he's confident that it has improved power and torque (not been on the rollers yet though). At the end of the day it's Maniflow, so you know 1. It's going to fit 2. It's high quality, and 3 It will do what they claim it will if used with the right combination of parts
The Cone part is the middle pipe on this system, it runs to the back box

At last! Someone who knows someone with one! I'm gonna try building one based on guesstimate sizes

I've got a Miglia style one on my trackday car running a 1293cc with an SW10.
Your dimensions sound about right although it's kind-of flat in section on top and bottom, not round, otherwise it would to too big for the tunnel section and be too low for good clearance.

I can't really tell you, this was a fresh engine build for a fresh car, and I happened to get lucky with the exhaust.
All my previous mini's had twin box RC40's of one form or another.

Sorry to bring up an old post. But i'm looking at the road RCM version, does anyone know what sort of spec engine this is suited for? At the moment I've got a 998 with a stage 1 kit fitted, and i'll be staying with the 998 to build a high spec one, but I cant seem to find anywhere anyone who has fitted one the same as what I'm looking for. just looking for some advice about it and if it's ok on my engine, if not then i'll just buy a normal maniflow system, just thought I'd look at something different than what everyone else goes for
Cheers

You'll get far better performance gains, by optimising the rest of the set up first, do some power runs, then fit one after so you can make some comparisons.

Ok cheers guys! Just wanted to get some more info about it and opinions before I bought it, the actual price for the system wasn't too bad in my opinion, £99, that's one of the reasons why I looked at it. So guess I'll get it setup as it is now, then maybe look at buying it, might talk to the guys at BD Engineering if anyone has heard of them as that's where I'll probably be getting it rolling roaded. Thanks again guys!!

I made a start on making one of these for myself, well I got as far as drawing it up to see what work/materials it would involve. Then I looked at the figures Maniflow predict, and then me being the cynical type assumed that they've been 'massaged' a little. I've shelved the idea for now but I might have a look at my exhaust books and see what it would involve for bringing any torque boost lower down the rev range for some 'real world' (my world) benefit.
