Not that long, take out the sealed beam unit, chop off the old side light and attache the side light from the halogen then plug in the halogen and refit.

Not that simple!! Relays should be fitted to stop the loom and switch from being burnt out!!

Halogen conversions don't take any more power than the sealed beams unless you are fitting 100/80 watt headlight bulbs, in which case 4 off relays are needed.
To fit normal 55 watt halogens in place of sealed beam units (a.k.a. 'electric candles') is a straight swap.

Love that warm "glow" of a car with sealed beams coming towards you, think I'll start a campaign with the SMMT to have them reintroduced, who needs bi-xenons anyway?
