Selling an A+ reconditioned cylinder head ready to fit

 

This came from a 998cc mini A+ series engine.

We bought this head, then worked on it to fit to our own 1098cc Morris Minor, but change of plans forces sale. So the work was done very well and carefully (obviously because it was going on a freshly rebuilt, slightly tuned 1098cc engine and we wanted a good head to match!)

 

It has all the valve seats hand ground-in with fine grinding past, onto immaculate lead free seats! It also has 8 new valve stem seals and a new set of, single, valve springs. Head face is great, I would say that it has had a slight skim at some point, so compression will be up a little and I painted it the BMC green.

 

All studs and threads are good and there, the only thing wrong with this head at all is the heater outlet pipe on top is a little rusty but I have left it on as it will do or it's a very easy change.

 

So very good ready to fit cylinder head that you can put straight on (ideal for a tired engine that maybe needs a head gasket? will make a big improvement!)

Collection much preferred because of weight but will post if someone wants.

             Interested in this for my '82 998 as I believe it hasn't been converted for unleaded. Would you say there'd be an improvement with power then? The carb needs a rebuild and I've got a set of Twin SU's sitting about; a better head would make these more worthwhile I believe. Thanks in advance.

There wouldn't be a significant power gain from a standard CAM4810 cylinder head. You need something like a 12g295 if you want to start thinking about power.

Hey man, I've done a spot of reading on them yeah. Turns out my project has got a HS4 so I think I'll just stick with that rather than faffing about with twins.
