Me and my mate were talking on the bus this morning to school (yes I don't drive there) and was wondering what Is the biggest engine that has been put in a mini he was hoping there is a V8 mini out there that would be cool but I doubt it.

also he said are there any Mini Limo's he said he saw one on the internet but I couldn't see any

yeah there are a few V8 minis. mostly 3.5 rover v8 units.

 

pretty pointless if you ask me..   stick a small capacity engine with a turbo on, much better and better power capabilitys really.

Yes there are V8 powered minis out there. There is a rear engined Clubby estate with a Rover V8 in the back. And on one of the threads posted today there is a radically modded mini with a chuffing great lump in the front and pro street style rear end

Yes there are V8 powered minis out there. There is a rear engined Clubby estate with a Rover V8 in the back. And on one of the threads posted today there is a radically modded mini with a chuffing great lump in the front and pro style rear end

 

oh i fotgot about that! with the renault 3 transaxle box on it!!   haha id like to build one with a chevvy big block and hewland transaxle as per classic F1 / F5000 cars that i work on. only downside is that its a 50 grand engine and box unit...

One of the 1st Miniworld mags back in the '90's featured a Chevy V8 powered van - it's was super competitive at the time and also road legal.

 

There is a feature in Mini mag this month on a Rover V8 van I think?

 

Somebody's just joined TMF with a Cosworth V6 engined mini, I think he was asking about attending a stand at the L2B yesterday.

 

There has been a few saloons over the years, but the vans seem more popular for the V8's ...maybe it's to fit in the massive rear tyres.

I seem to remember a F1 Ford DFV (V8 3.5l) engined mini racing in the super saloons series back in the late 70's, but most references go on about Gerry Marshall and his baby bertha...for those who remember that era!
