To clarify the need for the hot water connections somewhat. This has been discussed here recently, and I think most people agree that in the UK it is pointless. Carburettor icing occurs at the venturi, in the carburettor, not in the manifold, and manifold heating does not help that at all. In some parts of the world, certain carburettors were fitted with an electric heater, which is useful, but only when needed. More mundane Minis simply had two positions for the air intake, one close to the exhaust manifold for winter, the other well away from it, to get cold air in summer, and that was sensible. Manifold heating is useless during warm-up too, because it takes ages for the water to become warm enough to do anything useful. And, at running temperature, you ALWAYS get more power, the colder the incoming fuel/air mixture, as it is more dense, so a cylinder full contains both more fuel and more air than if it was hot.
So, at best there is a performance loss. Not worth the cost of fitting a couple of rubber hoses....
