I once had "That's the nicest sounding Mini I've ever heard"

I also had "Is it a Cooper?" from a pretty young lady.  "No - it's a tuned 1275GT - quicker and more exclusive". She lost interest right there Badge snobbery obviously...

 

The correct answer is 'It is whatever you want it to be...want to ride?'

Does the MOT station count for this one??  MOT tester this week came out with a big smile on his face 'aaaahh, I havent had to do a real Mini in years!!!'.  Turns out he had a couple of Mini's back in the day so we had a good chat after he had passed it (with some intervention from him, replacing some bolts that he said were wrong size etc and adjusting the mixture to pass the emissions).  He said my Mini was excellent, could do with a little tune up - but it had made his day - big smiles all round

last years mot at halfords ,'-l the tester drove in to the garage and got out whistling the Italian job self preservation society! Still failed it though!

Only had it on the road for about a month and 2 weeks of that I was offshore. Leaving ASDA recently there was a family walking across the car park and the youngest kid with them must have been about three and he tugged at his dads arm and shouted "Miniiiiiii". Also last week I had to call down the wifes salon to drop something off and one of her customers (who drives big trucks for a living) came out and wouldn't stop talking about it and the fact it was his first car then proceeded to show me pics on his phone of a load of minis coming off the ferry when he was laid up at the docks in his truck a few weeks ago (which I assume were going to IMM), he was genuinely made up that he had seen my motor and had someone to show the mini pics to! 

It really does make you smile.

Filled with petrol went to pay and the cashiers were talking about my mini and a new porsche that had pulled in "which one would you have I'd have the mini no question!!" When I parked up in town a BMW mini was parked next to me "oh a real mini want to swap!"

i had a full conversation about how much petrol i could fit in the mini i said about £35 and he didn't believe me so i did it and got £36 in he was shocked wish i put a bet on for him paying though

Few weeks ago filling up, I heard from behind me from a young lad to his dad, "that mini has a tow bar, what the hell can it tow"

Then was parked up a the gf's few days later and group of school boys and girls went by, and one of the lads went "anyway see ya, going in my mini now" to the other kids and pretended to walk to the mini he wishes lol

Earlier today I had a conversation with a bloke who insisted new MINIs are all Coopers and old Minis are just Mini, and that's how you differentiate between them when talking about them.

 

No matter what I said, I couldn't convince him otherwise.
