so if i were to have a 2.76:1 FD and i got the right drive gears in the gearbox then i could run the km/h speedo as a mph one? odes that make sense?

hence why they are called gauges. if they were supposed to be accurate they would be called instruments.
hahahaha.. funny that they are also 'known' as an 'instrument cluster'... :s
bad terminolgy: like those that say 'diff ratio' when refering to 'final drive ratio' for example

Yep, 1320 had the same questions raised by moke owners in Aus'... they have 800rpKm speedo's
If it's in rpKm then multiply by 1.609344 to get TPM
*apologies for the thread revival
So I've got a smiths speedo in km/h
Small number above odometer reads 880.
880 results in a 1416.2 tpm.
This seems extremely high?

actually it's 1408 tpm which is normal. I got fed up with all the decimal places... so x 1.6 works
so you must have a 170/180 kph centre speedo from a 60's cooper ( not cooper S )

Is a km speedo in TPK??? If so and it says 800 on the dial does that mean a TPM of 1280?
