Whats the advantage of a single cable hand break? I know thats what my jet black has but didnt all early minis have the twin?

Sorry to come in a bit late but I was searching for this posting by a mate on another forum ... is it the same thing?i think the apature is there on all pickups but it has a plate rivited over it usually. Nowbody seems to know why
Hasn't that got something to do with the "spit" that they used to hold the bare shells with to spray the body? The saloons have a similar cut out in the back of the rear seats.
