It might not be your head gasket. it might be condensation. check your dipstick for mayo as well also try and check you cooling system for desposits of oil in it. also do a compression test.
if there is mayo on your dipstick/oil in your cooling system then i would say that your hg needs replacing. however do a compression test. this is probally the best way to find out if you hg has gone.

Was this just after a very short drive, or before driving at all early one morning? That would normally just be condensation. If there's still mayo there after a longer drive then there may be a problem.

As above, does not always mean head gasket, engine flush and an oil change are the way to go first.
If you are changing the oil yourself then fine if not then go to tthe garage whenre you are goign to get it changed, just before they change it, Clean the cap thoroughly and use an engine flush, add this to the oil and let the car run at 2000 rpm for 20 mins or so.
Then get the oil + filter chaged, see how this is and if you stil get mayo after a day or so..
Best not to drive the car with the engine flush in there as the engine oil is also gearbox oil and the flush thins it down.
