Do any of you members have experience of using the above aluminium radiator as ebay item 111255202788.

Seems to be made in China so want to be sure it won't leak under pressure and will cool better than standard unit.

thanks

I have used ones I got direct from china (sellers name is winner racing on eBay). I have had four now for several years with no problems. One was pressure tested back to back with a Radtec one at Lola cars ltd a couple of years back and both took double the pressure that the cap releases at.

Only problem I had was one arrived damaged due to bad handling, it was replaced within a week no questions asked.

Although they are cheap and as people have mentioned above that they will most likely preform as well as a uk made one, i would never even bother. For the sake of an extra £60 i would buy the thermex one from minispares. Mainly because of the fact its uk made (and all us mini owners like supporting british made products) plus if there is ever any fault with the rad (for example it does explode) then you have a direct contact in this country that you can call and explain your situation to. Thats my angle anyway.

Thanks for all your comments but I am a little confused on how many cores is best, irrespective of it being made of aluminium or copper. Some are also described as 2.75" presume width but not sure how many cores.

I would like to select a side fitted rad that is cooled by the spi electric fan to cool my 1330 for road use. Don't really want to waste power by having the mechanical fan running all the time. Any further thoughts?

thanks
