I'll be fitting a new headlining to my Mini in the next week or so. The car has a pop-up sunroof (frame/glass/everything currently removed during this rebuild project) and I'm wondering what's the best fitting order for this job.

Do cut the hole in the headlining before or after glueing the headliner in?
Do I fit the sunroof in first then clamp the headliner under it then stretch/glue/fit the headliner?
Do I fit the headliner first then drop the sunroof in?

So many ways I could do this... or maybe I should say so many ways I could screw this up ;-)

Cheers,
Colin.

Hi
I used to fit these at Rover longbridge
Glue around the top of the window and door frames stretch the headlining into place then you can secure it in place with some stationary clamps then when it's in the desired position let the glue dry ( this will stop it pulling back out of shape ) then start cutting the hole for your sun roof leaving a bit of excess fit your sun roof and then trim off the excess and refit all the glass

I would just take your time with it as it is a fiddley time consuming job depending on what type of fabric your going to use if it's vinyl you can use a heat gun on low to remove any wrinkles or creases just don't put to much heat on it

Good luck.
