Hey, sorry i made a new threat for soundproofing your classic mini but i have some questions....
1) i ordered a bulkhead soundproofing for my mini, and i dont know how to fit it.
do i have to remove anything on its way , like fusebox, wiper motor etc...??
2) Is there a way to fit it ? Like an ashesive or glue?
3)I am planning to sound proof my mini and i want to make a good job in my mini,my idea is to order something like dynamat and put ALL over in the interior, after that, order some sound proofing carpet and above that the original carpet. Is that good choice ? I need your opinion
Thank you

In truth, I have one that has soundproofing and previously one that didnt - I didnt even notice much difference! Both cars had RC40/Maniflow exhaust and Stage 1 systems so were a bit louder anyway but cant say that having it made it any better. Might just be me though?

Soundproofing shouldn't weigh much at all, its like wool or a material with similar properties! I think you're thinking of soundDEADENING, which would be classed as the bitumen type sticky sheets and absorb vibrations and add mass, which in large amounts can be heavy.

same thing lol.. again i wouldnt bother, not much difference on my 1275(i removed the proofing from around the fusebox side of the bulkhead, and cut the fresh air areas off the section behind the dash, made no difference what so ever

nope... wool and bitumen are two different materials and are quite different in weight. Not to mention the two very different jobs they perform, isolation and adding mass. I don't think you understand. Plus if its the soundproofing I think hes bought its definitely not heavy!

Either way you are right about the bulkhead soundproofing, it won't affect the sound levels all that much on its own. Reason being is you need  a deadening material, isolation material and a blocking material to properly sound insulate your vehicle and to have any positive effect the isolation and blocking materials need to cover nearly all metal panels, especially the bulkhead.

For question 1, if you want to properly sound proof the bulkhead then yes you need to remove as much as possible

As an option you could look at Lizardskin which is a spray on sound deadening and a ceramic insulation material. Much lighter than Dynamat and you can apply it everywhere.

Costs a bit more but from what I have seen is very good and possibly if you are in Cyprus you want some insulation for the hotter summer months?

Link to the US store is http://www.lizardskin.com/

As for question 2 it would need to be compatible to the product you are using. The manufacturer should be able to advise or else a high temperature adhesive??

Please let me know how it goes as starting to plan for my sound and heat insulation as well
