ive noticed that at the back of the radio there is only 1 speaker cable going to both speakers which must mean that its only being played mono instead of stereo. The radio is a jvc ks-rx780 can anyone help me wire in the second speaker please?

Edit: also show me what the back of your radio looks like for refference please :)

It's a mess but it looks like you have the purple and grey pairs connected to some speaker wiring, which would be correct for DIN standard wiring.  The green and white pairs are also speaker cables which are unused. The two cables running to RCA connectors are co-ax so you only need 2 cables for 2 speakers, but these are for running to an amp and not directly to a speaker.

By the way the unit says 750, you stated 780.

From what I can make out in that jumble, yes I would say it's hooked up properly to 2 speakers.

At a guess the red and black pair might be live and ground. Use a meter to find where the power is coming in.

Same as the rest of the car, all according to Lucas / BS wiring colour code.  Accessory live is green, permanent live is purple, sidelights live is red and ground is black.
