Hey Jay,
It's taken me a good few hours to get through this thread - if it's taken me that long just to READ it how long has it taken you to actually DO it?!
Amazing effort and you've done a ridiculously neat job - its the kind of build I've been wanted to do since I was a kid. Totally satisfies my mild OCD anyway!
Can't say enough how impressive this whole thread is. Hats off.

It's taken a good while but I've really enjoyed the challenges restoring a car throws at you, plus ive learnt a load of new skills which is always a good thing !

Well, the Mini is now back at the paint shop having a cut back and polish and a few ramifications to the paint work. Here she is loaded on to the back of the truck -

Not much of an update I know, but it's all a bit slow going at the moment. I'm hoping I'll have her back by next week and then I can get the last few shiny bits bolted on and get her through an M.O.T.
Id really like to be able to make the Himley Hall Mini show next month but my chances aren't looking brilliant at the moment annoyingly.
Best get my finger out !

Bit late now Jay, but you would have been better leaving the lights, handles and trim off of the car until the polishing was complete.
It would have enabled them to do a more through job.
ah well, Looking excellent as always mate

Been a while since I've done one of these !
I've finally got my Mini back from the paint shop after having the paint cut back and polished and the roof re-painted, she's now seriously shiny !
Unfortunately I missed out on taking the Mini to the Himley Hall show but I still went and picked up a few more bits anyway, here's what I got -

And some more autoglym products to add to my ever expanding collection -

So, first job was to get my DSN hinges fitted ready to get my bonnet on -

Then I fitted the bulkhead deadening whilst it was still easy to do so -

Bonnet fitted -

I also fitted the bonnet insulation and a Smiffys Bits stainless bonnet prop before hand -

Next bits to be fitted were the headlight bowls and looms -

Changed my rocker cover T-Bars for some red anodised ones as the chrome plated ones have already gone rusty, they haven't even seen any action yet ! -

Last job of the day was to swap out the black metal part of the switch panel for the Burr Walnut replacement -

Finally, I'll leave you with a couple of shots of her now she's been polished -

Can almost see that glorious finish line,
Jay.

Any updates on this Jay? It's one of my favourite build threads.
Also if you don't mind me asking who have you used for all of your powder coating?
Hi Josh,
I've got an update to do, just haven't got round to uploading the pictures yet. Will try and get one up tonight or if not it'll be tomorrow for sure.
I have all my bits blasted and coated at a local place near me called Washford Finishings. Here's a link to the website - http://www.washfordfinishings.co.uk.
