Fantastic job :-)
The front brake discs are assembled in the wrong side, you have to change the disc from left to the right, and the disc from right to the left.

Thanks mate,

Not sure what you mean, I didn't know disks were handed ?

I think the slotted ones are handed Jay. On my brothers' Clubman we fitted them with the slots "turning" forward as the car moves forward. Yours will "turn" backward, if that makes sense?

The holes in the brake discs to assist in the ventilation have direction of rotation

Update,

A bit more progress made today, I swapped the brake disk on the passenger side with the other one, so now the holes are facing forward -

6c50ea3ccaf2b5260837cff434c1b2e0_zps5ba6

And then got the drivers side built up -

With the wheel back on -

Here's an overall shot of how we currently stand -

2c00f1dd8c7ab972e4830c42b6de8070_zps4e0f

Still lots to be done I'm sure you can see. Anyway, I put the car away and went around the back to make a start on stripping down the last few parts that need refurbing.

Here's the gear selector before -

11c86e7f894fc05c05380a0095b32c13_zpsf4e0

And after -

I'm going to replace all of the rubber components, clean up and polish the aluminium casing and I'm thinking about having the two arms powder coated.

I also stripped the steering column down, before -

After -

Same story with this really, I'll replace the nylon bushes in the column and give the whole thing a general clean up. All of the electrical components are fine so I dont have to worry about those. I'm looking at getting a Moto Lita steering wheel and Boss which should finish it off nicely.

That's all the progress for today :-)

Update,

Refurbed the steering column today, I started by using a wire wheel in the drill to remove the old factory paint and rust from the bottom of the column -

5dc24dde33c6f1a5542f82490a995a0a_zpsd02b

Zinc primed and a couple of coats of gloss black applied -

54bee336a5d865e240cbb93e5f2c7ca7_zps6fa6

Next I degreased and cleaned the column tube, inside and out, and cleaned up the stalks and mechanisms. I had lot of zinc overspray on the steering cowling, so I t-cut and polished it until it was all removed. For a 20 year old piece of plastic, it's came out quite well. I also re-used the nylon bushes, as the first job I did when I bought the car was to replace these, so there's no wear on them what so ever !

Then it all went back together again, here's the finished thing -

a29966dabcb0f013f98d0dbca709faaa_zps59a1

Went and Fitted it back into the car, I also torqued up the steering rack u-bolts once I was happy with the position of the column -

Another piece of the puzzle done, she's starting to feel like a car again :-)

What sort of gloss black paint do you use? just a normal aerosol or paint from a gun?

Gloss black aerosol from halfrauds, I get most of my aerosols from there as I have a trade card, otherwise I'd source it from somewhere cheaper !

Parts Update,

Been down to Minispares today and brought the last bulk of items I'll need before it all closes for Christmas, here's what I got -

2255a215a71044cec75c4808e1d8ebdb_zpse444

Close up of the Paddy Hopkirk pedal -

I also received my stainless Fletcher exhaust system through the post today, here it is -

df36dd085fc24d48c2449bc76d7d4f37_zps8e9d

Massive thanks to Minispeed for posting that next day delivery, probably wouldn't have received it until after Christmas otherwise !

I've also ordered some more Dynax S50 cavity wax, aswell as the bits I'll need to refurb my front loom, so hopefully those should arrive soon.

Anyway, that lot should keep me busy throughout the festive period, will make a start tomorrow !
