Jay,

That steering column bracket looks the nuts! Where is it from?

Still a fantastic effort by the way, properly built not bought!

Cheers Steve,

I got the steering bracket from here -

He's also in the traders sections on here.

Jay.

Update,

Well today didn't go as planned unfortunately. I jacked the car up and removed the passenger side wheel only to find the new cv boot fitted a couple of weeks ago had a small split in it -

6b776ebc68195b2f90ee7bcfe0cfa00f_zpsdaf3

Now, I'm not sure whether this happen'd when I was fitting it or if it was already there. Luckily though I had a brand new spare one.

So, ended up having to remove the whole hub assembly until I was left with this -

5da8a5c75d8ca7798b990de3ac1f85ca_zps626e

Wrestled the cv joint off the drive shaft and replaced the rubber boot -

7c0040aa98f7b1fcc74c208be0a01a16_zpsd090

And refitted the cv joint -

5ee7a9fe85042fc2e756abc0d3bd61b2_zps4642

I also noticed I didn't fit the white platic dust shield over the oil seal on the back of the hub, so I dug that out and fitted it -

d407513eee14480409be73feadfd041c_zps923b

So with the hub back on, we started on the job I originally intended to do, fitting the brake assembly. Screwed the drive flange to the disk -

e4343d0d6edf0752a5511e44bd6c5e98_zpsbfac

Placed that assembly onto the shaft and torqued it up using the flat washer tool from minispares, here it is -

b543657d3939028dedac520b409e9089_zps5152

Took that back off and put the hub nut split washer on, then torqued that up and put the split pin through the whole and bent it around -

2d4553dc225cd5da7875720270de5ade_zps7734

Fitted the caliper and the braided hose -

0c5e3981074603327428040ab8210f1f_zps3492

And then put the wheel back on, took a picture through the headlamp hole, looks the nuts -

f327866719c9435f2d7d550843a15e18_zps5bd3

Started getting dark so we didn't have time to do the other side, but I did fit my bonnet catch assembly with the stainless bracket from Smiffy's -

f415cf4333cb9ce09b70687f5595cbfe_zps12ae

That's all for today, but I may get the drivers side done tomorrow, weather permitting of course !

Fantastic job :-)

The front brake discs are assembled in the wrong side, you have to change the disc from left to the right, and the disc from right to the left.
