Using CAD (that's cardboard aided design) I made up the strengthning plate that sits on the outer end of the front cross member. I used 3mm steel which was probably thicker than standard but that's good, anyway I first made a template

Then I made it in steel

The spot welder I have isn't powerful enough for the thick stuff so I had to plug weld it

Then the inner wing went on

Very small update, I have got the jacking point and seat belt anchor in place and welded up now.

Yeah, I've done a few measurements and it all seemed good. So far everything has lined up perfectly although I'm sure the genuine panels are helping that matter!
