I got a bit done today, first of all I checked the door gaps and got some bracing along the sills. The shell is otherwise surprisingly sturdy.

I also got out the plasma cutter and removed the front end

I rescued the grill, body number and bonnet prop bracket from the wreckage

I also found this A panel in the loft, it was left over from a full bodyside I got for my cooper s so it should come in nicely, much better than the aftermarket ones.

Are you going to keep a spreadsheet / costings record of your total spend of the resto?

Probably not, i would rather not know! I've just spent nearly a grand a Bingley and don't have any receipts for that so oh well.

Another panel arrived today, this time it was my complete floor section

I also knock up the first part of the frame or jig if you like which the new bottom half will be built up on. I had some old car ramps lying around which are very substantial so will be ideal

I welded in some cross bracing to make a strong framework for the car to sit on

Got some new bushes fitted to the subframes and bolted them back onto the van, then I lifted it onto the frame and welded the subframes to the frame. I then undid all the subframe bolts and lifted the shell back off leaving me with a nice jig to start fastening the new panels too, here are a few pics

Got the plasma cutter out again today and I got just about all the parts cut off that we're rotten and no longer needed, needless to say there isn't much remaining!
