Excellent job, just scanned through the whole thread.

I did a similar approch to panel replacement on my saloon, including the bulkhead.

Looking forward to seeing it at some shows!

I made a start on the engine today, due to wanting to have the ignition key In the center of the dash it meant I needed to buy an earlier style wiring loom, this also meant I have to run a dynamo, this also meant I have to ran an A series block as apposed to the a+ that was in the car when it came. Luckily though I had a good A series sat in the shed so this is the engine I'm going to rebuild and use.
First thing I needed to do was separate the gearbox from the engine, so off with the clutch cover and clutch.

And then lift off the engine

Picked up these wheels today, well, 3 of them, I'm picking another one up at Bingley to make up the set.

Also got some tyres, decided just to go for standard 145's it's no race machine!

Then I sand blasted one of the wheels, fitted the tyre and gave it a quick coat of silver, 3 more to go now! Also I got some really cool stubby valves.

They are 5j, I'm not a huge fan of big fat tyres and I think the bit of stretch on the 145's looks just about right. Plus they should tuck under the arches nicely :)

Were they pretty much ready for paint straight after you blasted them?

Getting a lot of my 10's blasted soon and hope they come back looking that good!

I gave them a quick coat of primer first but the still have that kind of cast look, I'm pretty sure they would have benn like this from new though.
