Its not like I need anymore 25 related stuff, but...

BHS are currently selling off an old fashioned metal toolbox, with lift out tray and a few tools for a tenner (was £20), witch seamed to good not to pass up.

http://www.bhs.co.uk...572?bi=81&ps=40

So one toolbox with tray and tools.

To witch I now plan on sanding down (looks to be a powder coat/primer) repainting silver and then applying some mini25 stickers to. For witch can then either be used for shows, or more likely used to store some of my other mini25 related stuff in.

First though was a quick trip out to the local parts place for 2 500ml cans (silver and clear) and one 150ml can of primer for £13.85.

Followed by sanding down and removing the printed slogan on the side, witch I quite like, but sadly needs removing and to remove a few imperfections before re-priming.

Just need to wait a day or two for the primer to go off, as the garage isn't exactly that warm this time of year and then I can start spraying it silver.

I absolutely love old tool boxes, I've got on in my boot :D. I'll have to pop into bhs to see if they have any left!

Shall be watching this! Cool project! Are you heating the garage at all to paint? How is the finish painting at this time of year?

I've also got an old one in the mini that I picked up at a local steam fair for £3. Although I was more interested in the lift out tray for my larger toolbox for sockets and stuff. It just happed that with the tray removed it was the perfect size for a jack and a few tools. So was painted up with some left over hammerite and fitted with some left over catches and left in the mini as a roadside tool kit.

The garage isn't heated, but it's a lot less drafty and warmer than previous years. So far I've just been dusting the paint on and drying it with the aid of an old hair drier and then leaving it overnight. Witch is actually the same as I've done during the summer, just you can spray on thicker coats and it dries faster.

Toolbox is now silver, I did leave the spray cans indoors by a radiator up till the last minuet spraying and used a hairdryer before, during and after spraying. Once the silvery/glittery fog has settled in the garage and its had a bit of time to go off, I'll go back down to the garage for some pics.

Silver and a quick coat of lacquer...

Just need to wait for the paint to fully harden and maybe a quick flat and polish (it is touch dry in the picks) and await the arrival of the stickers from Roofless.

The paint has had a chance to harden enough for me to give it a quick polish. there is a few little bits that aren't perfect, but for a £10 paint job it's really not too bad.

Just waiting on the stickers now to finish it off.

Looks really good. Are you going to line the trays to stop scratches?

I had thought of it, but wasn't sure on what to use to line the trays with.

Looks nice! I have non slip liner in my box, protects the drawers and stops tools moving around so much. Here's a link to the stuff but you can probably get a smaller cheaper amount off the bay

I had thought of that, as I have something similar in the form of a left over large universal boot mat I bought a few months back form aldi for a £5 and used half of to cover my workbench with.

But then I thought about using universal self adhesive carpet tiles. Predictably though the local poundland didn't have any and although I can get some from a 99p store, the nearest is just under 20 miles away.

How about this?

http://bit.ly/1cKVfkQ

Bit nerdy, but you could cut a silhouette for each tool in the foam. Each to tell if any are missing lol
