anyway good luck with the moving in
wishing you a dry & pleasant future

Thanks.
The subject of the brook is a sore subject.
We are trying to sue the highways agency for damages but they say, they have no due-restriction over it apart from monitoring it.
They also say that the flood would have happened regardless of whether they kept it clear or not (nonsense)
They said they would not clear it as it was expensive to do and would make no difference.
Funny how we started piling on the pressure for our money and they got in there with a JCB last month and cleared it right out.
Wonder why they did it if it apparently makes no difference.
The battle continues.....

had the father in law on the phone today asking me what i want done with the Mini.
He is worried that the builders might damage it and on top of that, he is concerned about tools going walkies.
I just told him to load any odd loose bits laying around into the shell and cover it with a tarp. He is going to put my welder and toolbox infront of the workbench and push the mini up against it.
That should do.

Work has begun!
They started yesterday morning and have removed dozens of bags of rubble, the old kitchen, doors, skirting boards and removed all of the plaster form the walls.
Today, they have asked us about colour schemes and kitchen designs which was completely unexpected as we was sure we would get plain old magnolia and we was told no kitchen.
All they want to do now is fit a new bathroom and we will be happy!
Work should be completed quite quickly judging by what they have achieved so far. It's just very frustrating not being there to make sure they are doing a nice job.
My mother in law is there checking up on them and she recons all is good so we will see!.

Another site meeting is taking place today with the highways agency and a local councillor so we can continue our push for compensation. If they won't play ball, then it will go to court which we don't really want but will if needs be
